We usually limit out on American Red Snapper weighing up to 15 lbs in the first hour during season (April 15--October 31) on the 60+ mile trips. The “big gag grouper” are more plentiful from December through April, however the season is closed from February 15 though March 15. I have caught several over 50 lbs in the 60+ mile range.
I do not use a mate on charters 8 hrs. or less unless requested. Add $20/hr whenever a mate is working the charter trip.
